God is a Crazy Fool?

Suppose you are stuck in a low-paying, going nowhere, boring job and someone says to you, “Just Quit! Quit! I have a rich friend, a genuinely nice guy. Surely, he will spare a few millions for you. Then you can live the easy good life! No more work, no more worries!”

Will you not laugh out aloud and say, “Who is this crazy rich fool of yours giving away Free money? Ain’t nothing in this world that is free, my friend. And I am no beggar. I have never taken anything for free in my life. Everything that I own, I worked for it, paid for it with my hard-earned money. I Earned everything I have and I am proud to say so”

And yet religion says God is that Crazy rich fool giving away this Free Gift of Heaven! No more work, no more worries, one easy, lazy day after another! Yay! And billions drool! And these are not dumb, uneducated people, these are some of the best of minds of the day!

No one mentions any WORK being done in Heaven, no one even asks! All these theists seem to assume that God is some kind of Sugar Daddy, happy to keep them in comfort. KEPT in comfort. Kept is a dirty word – prostitutes are kept in comfort by their rich Sugar Daddies. Sycophants, cronies or leeches and parasites, as we know them to be, are kept in comfort by their Sugar Daddies. Religion has reduced even the best of minds to such a disgusting level and not one of them has a clue!

Try asking what does one DO in Heaven? What WORK? How is it USEFUL to God? Can a theist describe a DAY? ONE DAY in Heaven with DETAILS? And you will get a blank look. The problem with work is obvious – what work would the Almighty God need to get done? And that too need our help? None at all! And so, we end up with billions of people in an idle, lazy, useless, pointless, and shameless existence sponging off God!

God sees one of these theists coming and goes, “here comes another disgusting parasite!” Honestly, where does our self-respect go? What happened to our morals, values that God through REAL LIFE has taught us? Have we not been taught that nothing in this life is Free, Given nor Easy? That once we come of age, we MUST find work, make enough to put food on the table, a roof over our heads? We EARN our success – whether it is getting an A in school, or that job or promotion, that Gold medal in the Olympics and much more – success in life is NEVER GIVEN, it is ALWAYS EARNED! We earn it by hard work, making sacrifices, dealing with setbacks, taking risks!

We know all this – these are God’s lessons imparted to us through life! And yet, at the altar of religion, so many drop them. The idea of an easy lazy life seems to blind them.

Hinduism has the answer and John Stuart Mill, who must have studied Hindu texts put it best – “Better a Socrates dissatisfied than be a Pig Satisfied!” – Socrates here is REAL LIFE, the life we now have and the Pig is Heaven!

Think of it – the Pig does no work, has no worries. The farmer keeps it in comfort – yep KEPT in comfort! Fed, protected, sheltered, cared for – yay! Heaven!

Billions of people are going to end up as Pigs! As lower life forms. We know of other life forms that do no work but leech off others, are parasites! And so, plenty of life forms to choose from.

It is sad to think that in the 21^st century our goal in life seems to be to get a life of pleasure, self-gratify ourselves for eternity. Is that the best we can do? Can we have higher goals?
