There is no evidence nor has there ever been any evidence of God or Heaven nor Hell. Heaven for me, as well as Hell, makes no sense. Billions of people in an idle, lazy, useless, pointless existence, yes existence for eternity not this “eternal life” – Life means growing up from a child to adulthood, once we come of age, moving out of the nest (the story of Adam & Eve), learning to stand on our own two feet, EARNING a living, navigating the adult world with all its delights and pitfalls, dating, the heartaches, the joys, the celebrations, watching our elders decline, job losses, health issues – THIS is life!
Ask what does one DO in Heaven? What WORK? Can any theist describe a DAY? ONE DAY in Heaven, with DETAILS, please. And it is this asking for Details that kills this fantasy called Heaven. Like all fantasies, Ponzi-schemes, lies fall apart when pressed for DETAILS, Heaven does too. But religions are supported by the media, a Christian/Islamic media that makes sure such unwelcome questions do not see the light of day! Yes, in the 21st century, with all the talk of freedom of speech, censorship exists – religions are protected from unwelcome questions!
Why would any being be keeping billions in cozy comfort in an idle, lazy, useless, pointless existence shamelessly sponging off him for eternity? How is this God’s Grand Plan? It is amazing that NO ONE asks such questions. The followers drooling over living the easy good life brainwashed into silence but what is sad is to see even Atheists remaining silent. Atheists too seem brainwashed by the idea of mocking God and remaining blind to everything else!
Heaven is but a metaphor for the womb, childhood, the past – as kids, as in the womb, we were fed, protected, sheltered, cared for and while our parents cried in private, they made sure that we were kept in a safe, happy bubble, kept apart from the horrors of life they faced daily. “Mom lost her job? Do not worry, she will get another one soon”, “Dad is in the hospital? Don’t worry it is nothing, he will be back soon, you go play” and play we did. We had few worries, few cares – it was a happy, delightful time in our lives.
But life teaches us that such good times do not last – at some point we will come of age and must move of this happy nest, this happy bubble (the story of Adam & Eve), learn to make a living, stand on our own two feet, face the world on our own as Adults that we are.
Religions like Christianity & Islam say we can run back to those happy days, remain eternal helpless children, a nanny God will be happy to keep us in comfort as we relive our childhood but this time we get to be this helpless, dependent but happy Children for eternity! Live in the past for eternity!
And Hinduism is saying we cannot do that – we should also be ashamed to think we can do that – be helpless dependent for eternity. God, thru life, has taught us that we must grow up, we cannot remain helpless children forever, once adults, we get a job, earn our way in this world. That is the life that God created for us.
Reincarnation, the opposite of Heaven, is asking us to choose life, REAL LIFE, understand childhood does not last long, as painful as it may seem, we must become Adults, earn way in this world, move forward into the Future. Think of how far we have come – from ape-like creatures, naked and hunting for food, to medieval times, to now. Just in the past 100 years we have moved forward so much and imagine what life would be like 200 or 300 years from now! Will we be travelling through the solar system? Build colonies on Mars? Make contact with Aliens?
Let us not be afraid of Life, of the Future – let us not be frightened little children making God ashamed of us. The Only way is to move forward, only one way to make our Father Proud!
