Well, a bit of a departure from Religion, but I will tie it up. We have all seen the pictures, heavily armed masked men and women looking for Illegal immigrants – we have had a few cases of people being shot, killed!
I think, few people have a problem with Illegal immigrants, without any proper documentation, being arrested, having their due process in court and deported to their home countries. But we see that is not happening here. Everything is being done with a heavy-handed hammer process, people being forcibly arrested, spending several days or months in jail, there is little or no due process and then deported to foreign countries, sometimes not their own!
But the worst obviously are those that have been killed, lives lost.
It is here, that I divert to Sociology, Psychology – please look up the name Stanley Milgram – a famous social psychologist that conducted experiments that shed a disturbing light on human behavior. Here, I copy and paste from Google about him:

To be clear, the learners in this experiment did not really experience brutal shocks but just acted out as if they were. They were placed inside a glass barrier, the “Teacher” could see the effect, the screams of pain, but did not realize that this ‘student” was just acting out his or her pain.
Another experiment that he did was to divide students into groups of guards and inmates. The Guards were told to treat the inmates roughly, to give out punishment as needed (although not as brutal as in the real world) and the inmates were to absorb such abuse. Both groups of students knew this was just an experiment that these Guards were not really prison guards and the inmates were not really criminals.
But amazingly, over time, the “guards” behaved as if they were really prison guards as in real life – really started mistreating and abusing the “prisoners” and amazingly, the “prisoners” also took the abuse!
This disturbing experiment was stopped after some time without fully completing it because the results had become so disturbing.
Why is this relevant here? Well as you read the google report you realize that ordinary people will inflict brutal punishment on innocent people under the orders of an authority figure – well, we see that is what ICE is doing. In fact, they are being told that they are doing the correct thing, the right thing! This administration backs them up no matter – the victims condemned as terrorists, criminals!
It is frightening to understand that unless we comply & do EXACTLY as they want, we are in danger of losing our lives, our loved ones living the rest of their lives in mourning for us. One “wrong” move, one slow response, a cellphone could be seen as a gun, reaching to unlock the door could be misconstrued as something sinister and we could get shot.
But to get to the point of the headline, the ICE are protected by their anonymity that their face masks give them. No one knows who they are, only their coworkers and superiors know who they are and to me, that is a problem. As we have seen from Dr. Milgram’s experiments, if ordinary civilians could be persuaded to do horrific things by authority, how far more are masked people willing to go?
It also invoked bad images of terrorists – we have all seen those images from all over the world – terrorists in their areas of control in photos – all of them are masked, so that they can commit crimes and then seamlessly blend in with ordinary folks. That is what Israel faced – Terrorists killing innocent people on October 7, 2023, and then blending in with the Gaza population!
Unmasking ICE will not solve everything, but at least, people will know who they are and what they have done. There will be some immediate pushback or accountability – right now there is none.
And as for religion – there are plenty of horrible things that God commands people to do in our holy books – rape, mass murder of innocents, even children were not spared! Slavery is justified! It is amazing and frightening to understand that educated, intelligent, moral, ethical people are reading these stories of horror and yet praising the God that orders such inhumanity! Again, good people bowing down to authority but sadly in this case, all they are bowing down to is a religion shouting, claiming that it speaks for God! Apparently, the louder the shouting, the more they are believed!
We read stories of magic, miracle – “doctors told us that my baby would not survive, but God intervened and saved her!”, “I had no hope, but amazingly so-and-so stopped by and saved me and walked away! I don’t even know who that amazing person is! My angel sent by God!”, “The Tsunami wrecked thousands of homes, took hundreds of lives, but spared this baby! A miracle!”
Did you see it? No mention of the horror of the Tsunami – the hundreds of innocent lives killed but praising the mass murderer because he spared a baby! Master/Slave religions dominate the planet in the 21st century – Rule 1 – Master is always right & Rule 2 – If Master is wrong, see Rule 1 above!
Blind obedience to the Master when in fact they obey their religion and its leaders. So much hate, so much killing is the result. The willingness to condemn innocent people – families, women, children, even babies – to burning chambers in Hell! A Nazi Germany awaits billions of innocents. In fact, thousands of people die every day – and since most of them are unbelievers, holocaust fires are burning 24/7 in their afterworld!
What a sad statement of humanity!
