The Iran War!

The US along with Israel, have launched a war with Iran – as of now, Iran is being bombed relentlessly – the target of course, are Iran’s nuclear capabilities but there is, obviously collateral damage – innocent civilians have been killed – on both sides but the body count is far greater in Iran.

We do seem to live in an unequal world – where a few countries possess nuclear weapons but threaten others if they try to get one. A Paternalistic attitude prevails – WE can have these weapons, because WE are not going to be using them indiscriminately, WE are responsible people, whereas others are not. I do understand that Iran has threatened to wipe out Israel and that makes them an exception – they must never get the weapon.

No one and I mean no one, even the citizens of Iran, are crying over the passing of the Ayatollah, Ali Khamenei, a brutal leader that kept his country and people in suffering for decades. But that is what happens when such leaders gain power – Kings, as the Shah before him, Dictators like Putin, Saddam, Kim Jong Un – THEY live in luxury, care little about their people – they are not duly elected leaders answering to the general public – it does not matter what they do and so Dictators like Putin, Saddam lead their countries into unnecessary wars costing thousands of lives of their countrymen and women, but mostly men. And the cost of such wars – billions that could have been spent in uplifting their societies have been wasted on these needless wars!

And here we come to their religion – Heaven is promised to all Muslims and ALL unbelievers will be condemned to Hell. So basically, morals, values do not matter, who we are as human beings, what good we did in life, all that does not matter, what matters is belief, religion! Christians say the same thing. Jews, listening to all this go, “yes that did happen to us in Nazi Germany – set apart based on belief, religion and condemned to gas chambers!” – these two religions are saying the same fate awaits billions of unbelievers – families, women, children, even babies – will be set apart based on belief, religion and will be condemned to burning chambers in Hell! So, better hurry and convert or else!

Using God, using Nazi ideas, using threats to push conversions & amazingly not even the most moral of us speak up!

Such ideas appeal to the weak, the coward, the lazy, the uneducated – because in the REAL WORLD that we live in success is not GIVEN, it is EARNED! Success is a matter of lots of hard work, sacrifices need to be made, the inevitable setbacks have to be dealt with, risks taken and in this modern world, education is a must! And even then, success is not guaranteed!

Contrast that with the Heaven that is promised to the followers of the top two religions – blind belief alone is required – that’s it! Just one simple requirement – believe! Blindly believe because we have zero evidence of the cheap easy promises that we are making!

We are disgusted by evils such as Racism – where human beings are reduced to just their skin color by Racists. Caste, Ageism, Sexism reduce human beings to just one aspect of who they are as people. Christians, Muslims, and Nazis only saw a Jew – antisemitism – they did not see a human being. And now these religions are saying belief alone matters – the human being does not matter.

And amazingly, while all the above evils that I listed – Racism, Caste, Sexism, Ageism, Antisemitism are condemned worldwide, these two religions get to OPENLY PROMOTE their division and hate!

But we can see how such easy promises, such simple “qualifications” hold so much appeal – the greed for the easy good life promises seem to have blinded even the best of minds, most moral of us! It is same greed that Ponzi-schemers like Madoff have exploited. But cool minds have spoken up against Madoff – questioned his promises but amazingly few question the cheap promises of religion.

As I mentioned – such ideas appeal to the weak, the lazy, the coward & the uneducated – a simple belief and such a huge reward! And so, such people will blindly cling to these religions with fervor – blindly reading their religious books, blindly insisting that EVERYTHING written in these books must be correct! This is their chance to enjoy the easy good life, and nothing must destroy that fantasy! Hence, all the killings, hate against Science, other religions & Atheists by these followers.

And if one of these people gain immense power – it is not education they stress but religion and that is what we see happening in Iran, sadly.
